Limb Reconstruction Surgery

Limb reconstruction is a discipline that aims to restore normal limb alignment and preserve function.  It addresses issues such as:

• Congenital deformity

• Acquired deformity from either a previous fracture or progressive degenerative changes

• Acute injuries with open fractures, bone loss and severe soft tissue injuries

• An alternative to patients who are high risk candidates for internal fixation.

These subsets of pathologies often require a multidisciplinary team of highly specialised professionals including Plastic Surgeons, Microbiologists, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapists, Podiatrists and Nurses. Dr Kovac works within this multidisciplinary team and will coordinate your care.
